Limelight Tournament Champions

Lasting Legacy U14, U16, and U19 teams headed to Trinity College this past weekend to compete in the Limelight College Showcase Tournament.

The tournament started off with the U14 Gaels facing Lead the Way (Rhode Island), FHCC (Connecticut), East End (New York), and Metrowest (Massachusetts). After dropping the first two games with a combined score of 3-1 (Lead the Way 1-nil and FHCC 2-1), the Gaels beat East End 4-nil and Metrowest 2-1.  The Gaels took 3rd place with a 2-2 record and a +3 goal differential.  Well done Gaels!!

Lasting Legacy U16 Tempests took the Bronze medal compiling a 4-2-1 record with a +9 goal differential.  Day 1 results: Loss to House (Connecticut) 2-nil, won matches 2 and 3, Metrowest (Massachusetts) 2-nil and Irondequoit (New York) 4-nil.  Day 2 results: loss to NEPA (Pennsylvania) 3-2, won matches 5 and 6, Rise (Chicago, IL) 2-1 and House 2 (Connecticut) 5-nil.  In the Bronze medal match, the Tempests faced Irondequoit again.  This time the Tempests needed to overcome a 2-1 deficit by scoring the equalizer with less than 5 minutes remaining in the match.  Lots of energy and effort by the Gaels taking home the Bronze medal!!

Lasting Legacy U19 Cyclones took the Gold medal compiling a 5-0-2 record with a +16 goal differential.  Day 1 results: tied Rye FHC (New York) 1-1, won matches 2 and 3, Irondequoit (New York) 4-nil and Prime (Massachusetts) 5-0 nil.  Day 2 results: tied Showhegan (Maine) 1-1, won matches 5 and 6, House (Connecticut) 2-nil and Rise (Chicago, IL) 4-1.  The Cyclones faced Showhegan A Team in the championship match winning the game 4-2.  Gold Medal Champions Cyclones!!
